February 22, 2008, Newsletter Issue #78: Academic Credit With Study Abroad Education Programs
1
Tip of the Week
There are two ways for students to gain academic credit from study abroad education programs. The first is to take equivalent courses in the new institution. For example, a student who is studying politics at home could take an equivalent politics course in the study abroad education program, which will allow the student to learn about different policies and governments in other countries. Another approach is to look at the courses on offer that are different but related. Most colleges are willing to award academic credit to students on study abroad education programs. This is usually a matter of filling out the appropriate forms.
