Getting Around London
Getting around London is extremely easy and convenient.
The Best way is by way of the tube.
Tube
The tube has 275 stations serving over 408km (253)
miles of railway. With 63 in central London alone.
Buses
Buses conductors collect fares on the older buses or
cash is paid directly to the driver.
Taxis
Londons black taxi cabs are metered. there is a
flat rate fare of 1.40 pounds and drivers expect a tip
of atleast 10%.
Minicabs are cheaper more flexable . there is no meter
it is important to agree on the fare before hand.
Car rental
There are several car hire companies in london.
Travelcards
Travelcards are perfect for seeing the sights in London and navigating the city Tube ,Bus, Rail and Tram system.
Travelcards are available for one, three or seven consecutive days, and for any combination of travel zones . Depending on which country you live in, you can order some tickets online and they can be mailed to you before you travel to London.
A Good, Green Walk
Designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Boston's chain of six parks is known as the Emerald Necklace. This urban oasis includes green, open spaces, rivers and ponds, and a wealth of diversity of trees, shrubs, flowers, and wildlife habitat. The Back Bay Fens, Riverway, Olmsted Park, Jamaica Park, Arnold Arboretum and Franklin Park stretch five miles from the Charles River to Dorchester and are linked up to create this 1,000 acres of beautiful parkland.
Irish Pub
They say Boston is a city where there is a church and an Irish bar on every corner. And, yes, River Gods is yet another Irish pub. Its owners are Irish and they serve a great pint of Guinness. But, you won't find any shamrocks hanging on the walls here. River Gods is a contemporary, yet cozy bar. The small space fills up quickly, around 9 p.m. as the DJ's, who rotate nightly, do their thing. The beer selection is good, cocktails are reasonably priced and tasty food is served nightly until 10 pm.

Something Savory — a gem hidden in the tree-lined burbs of Arlington, owned by chef John Levins. It's a real neighborhood place with lots of regulars, which is not surprising. Levins' cuisine is described as eclectic American with a French Caribbean twist.
